Speech and language therapy after stroke in West Sussex

Returning to everyday life after a stroke can bring changes to communication and swallowing. Ember SLT offers private adult speech and language therapy in West Sussex, with support shaped around your priorities and the people important to you.

Understanding what has changed

After a stroke, some people experience language difficulties such as aphasia. Others find that speech sounds different or that planning speech movements is harder. These needs can overlap, so assessment helps clarify the support that is right for you.

Ember supports communication, speech, voice and swallowing needs linked to neurological conditions. You do not need to know the clinical language before getting in touch.

Rehabilitation that connects with daily life

I work in adult community neurological rehabilitation and support the transition from hospital to home. Our work starts with your experience: what has changed, what feels difficult and what you would like to do more comfortably.

Therapy is individual. Support may focus on speaking and understanding, reading and writing, speech clarity or finding other ways to communicate. Where swallowing is a concern, I offer assessment and guidance that considers safety, comfort, choice and quality of life.

Working with the people around you

With your agreement, families, carers and care teams can be involved. I work with multidisciplinary teams and provide practical training to support communication and swallowing in everyday life.

Assessment, therapy and family support are available in English and Farsi. I will explain things clearly and involve you in decisions about the next steps.

Appointments in West Sussex

Ember SLT is based in Worthing, with home visits in the confirmed service areas and online appointments also available. We will discuss your location and whether a home or online appointment is appropriate before booking.

Your first appointment is a chance to talk through your priorities and complete the assessment activities needed to understand your needs. You will receive an explanation and an honest recommendation about what support could look like. Fees and the first-visit process are available on the website.
