Meet Nessa
I’m a specialist Speech and Language Therapist in community neurorehabilitation, offering care with warmth, compassion and time to listen.
I want you to feel comfortable, listened to and understood. I take time to get to know you, not just the difficulties you’re experiencing, but what matters to you and the people around you. There is space to ask questions, share worries and go at a pace that feels right.
I created Ember because an ember is a quiet, enduring source of warmth. For me, it reflects therapy that builds on who you are and helps you communicate, participate and live in ways that matter to you.
I work in adult community neurological rehabilitation, supporting people after stroke and brain injury, as well as people living with Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, motor neurone disease and other progressive neurological conditions. My experience includes aphasia, cognitive communication, dysarthria and motor speech difficulties, voice, AAC and complex swallowing needs.
I support the transition from hospital to home and work closely with families, carers and multidisciplinary teams. I also provide practical training to help others support communication and swallowing in everyday life.
Your priorities shape our work together. I will explain things clearly, involve you in decisions and help you find practical ways forward as life changes.
I speak, read and write Farsi fluently and can provide assessment, therapy and family support in Farsi where appropriate.
If something outside speech and language therapy is affecting your progress, I’ll help you work out whom to contact next.
“I want you to feel heard, cared for, hopeful and empowered.”
