Adult neurological therapy
Aphasia therapy in West Sussex
When words are harder to find, there should still be space for you to be heard. Ember SLT offers private aphasia therapy for adults in West Sussex, with a Worthing base and home visits or online appointments.
Support with language and everyday conversations
Aphasia can affect speaking, understanding, reading and writing. It can follow a stroke or brain injury, and can also develop with some progressive neurological conditions. Everyone’s experience is different.
You may want to take part in family conversations, explain what you need, or feel more comfortable reading and writing. We start with what matters to you, rather than expecting you to fit a set programme.
Therapy shaped around you
I offer assessment and therapy for language and communication needs. Together, we can explore what is difficult and find practical ways to support everyday communication. This may include speaking, understanding, reading, writing and other ways to get your message across.
Families and carers can be involved, with your agreement. My existing communication partner training helps the people around you feel more confident supporting conversations. Assessment, therapy and family support are available in English and Farsi.
Your first appointment
There is no expectation to have all the right words. I will listen to your story, talk through your priorities and use the assessment activities needed to understand your needs. We will discuss what was found and what support could look like.
My background is in adult community neurological rehabilitation, including support after stroke and brain injury. You can read more about my experience and qualifications before getting in touch.
Home visits and online aphasia therapy
